Types of Website Traffic?

There Are Three Types of Website Traffic - Which one is best for what you want?

The new Golf Club XL3 has just come out for sale, and you saw it. All you can think to yourself about is, 'Man I want that so bad! Jim next door has one.' Or maybe it was the new Super Golf Club XL5.

Either new club would be a perfect fit for your golfing needs…..but how to get it?

- Well, you could always ask a friend for the money ("borrow it").

- Maybe you have enough money saved ("pay for it").

- Or just find a way to upgrade your current beautiful golf club ("create it")

Website traffic works the same way. There are three ways of getting website traffic: you can borrow it, pay for it, or just create it yourself.

Borrowed Traffic

There are two basic ways of "borrowing traffic". This may not work for everyone, but it can be a way to build relationships with other websites.

One of the ways to borrow is known as Affiliate Marketing. This is the when you have found another product that may compliment yours and yours compliment theirs.

For example: If you were selling gourmet candy and only the fanciest candy, you may set up a trade with a company that sells expensive chocolates. (The idea behind this is that you both add content to each other's site basically by talking about how great the other company's product is.)

Link Exchange is another way of "borrowing".

"If you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.”

Here you are allowing another site to place a link on your site in exchange for them allowing you to put a link on theirs.

There are also programs online in which regulate your traffic exchanges for you. Click here to see one of the best traffic exchange programs.

Paying for Traffic to Your Website

If you have it in your budget, this could be the ideal way to go. This method is commonly referred to as "Pay Per Click".

What it means is that you promise to pay a certain website company an amount agreed upon each time someone clicks on your link that is now ready and available on their website.

- This method is easily tracked. You place a link on another company's website. If one of their visitors clicks that link, then you pay the website a fee.

- The only problem that may be here is that if your business site is new, then you may not have a lot of money to spend.

Just because someone clicks on your link from another site does not necessarily mean that he or she is willing to buy anything.

Create the Traffic to Your Website via Do-It-Yourself

The Do-It-Yourself SEO method is gaining more popularity as others make it easier to learn and follow via e-books, instruction softwares, etc.

There are two very popular ways of bringing traffic to your site: Article (or content writing) and Videos.

Google and other search engines love content. It goes back to keywords. When an internet surfer types in a keyword on Google, several links will pop up. Understand this well before attempting it. Too many keywords over used can be marked as spam. Typically, three or four times per five hundred words is safe.

Videos have become popular recently. We are all familiar with YouTube.com. And there is a reason behind it. This site alone receives 12.5% of all website traffic. It is based on videos. At that high of a percentage, videos would definitely be a method to consider!
